Yes, waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) and body mass index (BMI) are different measures of body composition.

BMI is a widely used measure of body fat based on height and weight. It provides an estimate of body fat but does not take into account the distribution of fat. Internationally, a BMI value of 25 or higher is considered overweight, while a value of 30 or higher is considered obese. These figures, however, are different for the Indian population, with a BMI value of 23 or higher considered as overweight and 25 and above as obese.

On the other hand, WHR is a measure of body fat distribution that compares the circumference of the waist to the hips. A high WHR, which indicates a higher amount of abdominal fat, has been associated with an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, and other health problems. A WHR of 0.80 or higher in women and 0.95 or higher in men is considered an indicator of increased health risk.

There are a number of ways to improve BMI and WHR - a balanced diet, regular exercise, managing stress, controlling portion sizes, increasing the nutritive quality of food, and limiting alcohol consumption.
